The Second annual Mk2 Golf and Jetta gathering in Lebanon, New Jersey took place hosted by Pam and Gaets over at MK2 Mayday. Rubadub Media has been a banner sponsor both years, but this year had the pleasure of attending so I will be sharing as much of the experience as possible with this blog post.
I found out that my buddy Nick who lives in North Carolina was taking his newly swapped VR6 Golf over to New Jersey for the meet. It was a bare bones, no AC, no heat, no radio, leaky roof, and just about the rawest project car you could imagine making a 8hr+ drive in the rain across a few states. However, it MADE IT! and I guess we can't really complain!
We met in Pennsylvania for a cruise organized by Tony Grimmel which took another 1.5hrs. This was one of the best parts of the trip!
Now we're at the Round Valley Recreation Center in Lebanon PA. It felt like a mini Worthersee of the USA - a sort of MK2 VW old school Mecca. Not to mention the cool cars that were in the outside lot, which we will get to later. Now onto a ton of photos I took.
This two-tone Mk2 Jetta is the first mk2 vr6 swap ever built by Jeff Bynum!
I have many more photos from the event, feel free to email me if you would like a photo of your car from Mk2Mayday. The rest of the photos being shared will be some nicely modified dubs from the outside parking lot.
