To get the features kicked off, we will be starting with my 86 Volkswagen Mk2 Golf. It is a "bare bones" model that came factory without A/C and manual everything from locks to windows (and of course the sun-roof).
How long have you had it?
For about a year now. This is not my first mk2, I've owned just a few under 10 mk2s in my life from GTI 16V models to base Jetta GL models and a few Mk1 Cabriolets.
Where did you get it?
I purchased from a good friend Eric aka @thevwspecialist on instagram. He owned it for about 9yrs before parting ways with it. Eric is a certified VW tech and is still working on cars for people, you should hit him up if you've got a watercooled Dub in Southern California.
I was not in the market for another car, especially something I'd be tinkering with and putting money into but it came at an opportune time and knew the troubles of finding a well taken care of 30 year old VW.
