Let's hear a little bit about the driver - What's your name and where are you from?
Name’s Ruben, I'm from Belgium.
What got you into modifying cars and what kept you in it?
Don’t really know , when i was a kid i was really into the movies like Fast and the Furious. Then bought my Peugeot 205 just to drive for a while and then buy an Audi or something like that. Then when i first arrived at a carmeet i didn’t see any Peugeots so I thought why not do it by myself.
Ok ok ok... Tell us about your ride, what is it?
It’s a Peugeot 205 look edition.
Exterior Mods?
So I painted the car by myself in Nardo Grey from Audi. Gti bumpers with yellow foglights. Static lowered on TA-technix and a custom exhaust. Then for the wheels i wanted something else so i bought some Speedline Mistral 15x8" wide (OEM wheels off of a 1980-90s Ferrari, like 308 GTO, 328, Mondial).
Interior Mods?
The interior is fully stripped and painted also in nardo grey. Gti door panels with red carpet. Raceland bucketseats with red Sabelt seatbelts. Custom steering wheel from Peugeot Talbot sport in alcantara. A chrome rollcage and a different stereo with a subwoofer.
Anything special under the hood?
Yes, recently I changed the 1.1 engine for a 1.4 engine with a Solex carburetor.
What are some things you've done to your car that others might not notice?
The part on the hatch between the lights - the black plate is not original from my car. That and I painted my lights at the back.
Anything else you'd like to add? (could be about anything)
I started with the Peugeot just so i could say i didn’t copy anyone and stood out of the crowd. I want to inspire people that your car doesn’t has to be like the rest and you just have to build what you like, not because other people like it. I still have a long road to go with the car and every year something else comes on my mind. Yes i go to meets with the car but only for myself and not for some cups or prizes.
Thanks rubadub for this feature. Hope the people who read it like it as much i like it.
Hermoso 205 !
