Let's hear a little bit about the driver - What's your name and where are you from?
My Name is Drew O’Connell ( @MK5VIBE ) and I’m from Wheeling, WV ... I reside now in Morgantown, WV to obtain a degree from West Virginia University!
What got you into modifying cars and what kept you in it?
I was 15 years old a friend of mine just turned 17 and for his birthday received a MK4 GLI. He showed up to my house to go cruise and I saw that interior and read GLI and recaro on the seats and I was hooked.
What kept me in it was finding out it was a lifestyle. All my friends continued to make it a passion so it stuck with me as well. These days I lead a life of recovery from drugs and alcohol and Volkswagens, cars shows, car friends, and this lifestyle helps keeps me on the right track. Brings me peace.

What are some things you've done to your car that others might not notice?
Something I’ve done to the car that some might not notice is the attention to keeping it simple but still able to catch the eye. A few friends an I took the car completely apart, bagged and tagged everything, hauled it to paint, brought it back and put it all together. We took our time on this build. The car is more than a car to me. It’s a bunch of good moments wrapped into beautiful machine.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Build cars with your friends..it’s a lifestyle. 🏴☠️
